Van Gisbergen rocked the NASCAR world when he won on debut in the inaugural Cup race at the Chicago Street Course in July, driving the Project91 entry for Trackhouse Racing.
He became the first driver in 60 years to win in his first-ever Cup Series start. The New Zealander followed it up with a top-ten finish at the Indianapolis RC, becoming the first driver to open their Cup career with back-to-back top-tens since Terry Labonte did so in 1978.
Last month, he participated in his first Truck Series race at IRP and achieved a 19th place finish with Niece Motorsports.
In 2024, SVG is set to become a part of Trackhouse’s developmental program. This program will involve him participating in selected races across all three national divisions of the sport. Additionally, the team mentioned that he will be taking part in “various late model and other races.”
“I cannot reword”
“I am extremely grateful to all those who have contributed to my career thus far, particularly Triple Eight Race Engineering. I am eagerly anticipating the conclusion of this year with a few more noteworthy moments!”
I am ready to take on a new challenge, and venturing into the world of NASCAR will be the most significant test I have faced in my career. I eagerly express my gratitude to Justin Marks (founder and owner of Trackhouse) and the entire Trackhouse Racing team for believing in me and providing me with this opportunity. I am thrilled to arrive in America and begin the season.

I am unable to reword the given text.
Trackhouse Racing team founder Justin Marks expressed that Shane will face a significant challenge. However, Marks believes that Shane is an exceptional driver, as proven by his previous performances. The upcoming year will focus on helping Shane adapt to oval track racing, superspeedways, and 1.5-mile tracks, which are new to him. Although there will be a learning curve, Marks is confident that Shane will excel in these areas.
Trackhouse currently has two Cup cars in competition, driven by Ross Chastain and Daniel Suarez. However, they do not have any teams competing in the lower divisions of NASCAR.
However, before going to America, Van Gisbergen still needs to resolve his title battle in Supercars. He is currently 137 points behind the championship leader, Brodie Kostecki, as the endurance rounds approach. The first round, the Sandown 500, will take place this weekend.
