In Saturday night’s 500 lap race at the half-mile short track, the group of 16 participants will be reduced to 12.
Surprisingly, Martin Truex Jr., who had a successful regular season, is now in a precarious position as he finds himself trailing by seven points after an early crash at Kansas caused by a tire puncture.
Bubba Wallace has a total of -19 points, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. has -22 points, and Michael McDowell has -40 points. All three of them are currently positioned below the cut-line.
Just above the cut-line are two former Cup champions with Kevin Harvick seven points ahead of Truex and Joey Lognao who is 12pts up.
Tyler Reddick emerged victorious at Kansas over the weekend, securing his spot in the Round of 12 alongside Kyle Larson, who claimed victory at Darlington.
This week, NASCAR reinstated Noah Gragson one month after he was suspended for liking a post that mocked the 2020 murder of George Floyd at the hands of Minneapolis police officers. Gragson has since completed diversity and inclusion training.
NASCAR has also revealed that stage break cautions will make a comeback for road courses, starting with the Round of 12 cutoff race held at the Charlotte Roval.
Sam Mayer announced that he has extended his contract with JR Motorsports for the 2024 season in the Xfinity Series.
