Alonso is known for being a demanding individual who is determined to increase his impact within a team, primarily due to his time at McLaren.
The two-time world champion joined Aston from Alpine for 2023, eager to secure a multi-year deal with the Lawrence Stroll-owned team.
In an exclusive interview with Motorsport.com, Krack says the team and Alonso are working harmoniously and thinks its transparent relationship with the 42-year-old is the key to having a productive process within the Silverstone squad.
When asked about Alonso’s reputation for being difficult to manage, Krack responded by saying that he didn’t believe there was a need for us to manage each other since we are all team members.
Clearly, he is the individual who receives the most attention and has the greatest public presence. Therefore, it is natural to pay attention to his actions and be interested in his words and opinions.
“But he is aware of our desire to collaborate on this endeavor. Additionally, we possess humility and integrity, acknowledging that we may not always meet the goals we have established or those he may anticipate.”
“I believe that, at this point, it is crucial for us to maintain a highly open and transparent relationship. We should collaborate closely, treating each other as equals without explicitly designating a manager. This approach has proven to be successful thus far.”

The Silverstone outfit enjoyed a dramatic upswing this year, vaulting from seventh in 2022 to third in the constructors’ standings heading into the second half of the season.
Alonso has played a pivotal part in extracting the most from the competitive AMR23 car the team had developed for this season, scoring six podiums so far.
Krack believes that Aston Martin can benefit greatly by allowing Alonso, who has been competing in Formula 1 for 20 seasons, to offer guidance from behind the scenes.
Krack expressed his appreciation for the excellent collaboration that has been ongoing. He emphasized the significance of his partner’s understanding of the car’s flaws, and their joint effort in addressing them.
“We are aware of what to anticipate beforehand and make many decisions collaboratively. This is crucial because when you have someone possessing such expertise, intelligence, and enthusiasm, it is essential to include them. By doing so, you can only benefit from their involvement.”
We strive to adhere to this course of action. Instead of simply stating, “You are solely the driver,” we genuinely aim to embrace everything, including the positivity, that he can contribute – and I believe this greatly aids our cause.
