“We achieve victory and experience defeat collectively as a team.”

Suarez began the race in the top position on Sunday, competing in an 82-lap event on a 2.439-mile course with 14 turns. However, he surrendered his lead to Michael McDowell, who ultimately emerged as the victor, during the initial phase of the race.

Suarez made a move on Elliott with 35 laps left, pushing him aside to secure the second place position behind McDowell. He briefly took the lead again before all three drivers, Suarez, McDowell, and Elliott, made their last pit stop under green flag conditions on lap 50.

Suarez had the opportunity to take the lead with the top pit stall, but his car briefly caught the air hose, causing a delay in his pit stop. As a result, he fell behind McDowell and Elliott in the running order when all three got back on the track.

With the race going caution-free the rest of the way, neither Elliott nor Suarez could make up much ground on McDowell, which left Suarez with a third-place finish.

“I cannot reword”

“I constantly felt as though I was lagging behind (Elliott) and (McDowell), and towards the end, I experienced a resurgence in my car’s performance, only to be hindered by a problem.”

Suarez expressed his disappointment with the pit road problem, describing it as “quite disheartening.”

“That is an inherent aspect of the sport,” he stated. “Our only option is to persistently strive, persistently construct race cars of this caliber, and I will persistently achieve victory in races.”

The fight to make the playoffs

Suarez currently holds the 17th position in the series standings, trailing Bubba Wallace by 28 points with only two races left in the regular season.

Suarez is confident that he has a greater opportunity to secure a victory at the upcoming road course at Watkins Glen (N.Y.) International.

“I believe we can achieve even greater results,” he stated. “On Saturday, we displayed a high level of strength and today we continued to demonstrate our strength.”

“We were slightly deficient; I was dissatisfied with my performance in the initial part of the race. However, I am confident that we will review all aspects and return with greater strength next week.”
