Brad Keselowski’s teammate, Chris Buescher, achieved an impressive triumph in Monday’s rain-delayed race at Michigan International Speedway, securing his second consecutive NASCAR Cup victory of the 2023 season.
Keselowski remained a strong contender for the second consecutive week, ultimately securing a fourth-place finish this time.
Buescher has already secured a spot in this season’s playoffs due to his victories, and Keselowski is in a favorable position to qualify based on his current eighth place standing in the rankings. There are still three regular season races left before the playoffs.
Last season was a significant change as both teams were unable to qualify for the 16-driver playoff field, although Buescher did manage to secure a victory towards the end of the season.

“It has been two fantastic weekends. I am extremely excited for our company,” Keselowski expressed. “There are many individuals putting in tremendous effort, striving to comply with the rules and regulations while maximizing their performance.”
“They are performing exceptionally well in various aspects, such as pit road operations and restarts. I am pleased with their hard work and the outcomes they have achieved.”
“We are also remaining focused and determined. There are still many races ahead of us.”
Keselowski’s influence
Before Keselowski became a driver and co-owner in 2022, Roush had a notable track record of achievements in NASCAR. However, they had not emerged victorious in the Cup Series since 2017.
Keselowski’s arrival coincided with the debut of the Next Gen car in Cup series competition which added to the transformation of the racing team.
Keselowski has insisted change would not come overnight, but Buescher’s win late last season was a strong indication the organization was moving in the right direction.
Keselowski expressed that they are allowing their achievements to speak on their behalf. He praised Chris for his exceptional driving skills and emphasized the satisfaction of winning. They are working hard and achieving the desired outcomes.
Keselowski, a Michigan native, would have loved to be the RFK driver that earned the winner’s trophy on Monday but still appreciates the significance of Buescher’s accomplishment.
“I am pleased to be in Victory Lane regardless of the circumstances,” he stated. “I aspire to be there as a driver, but being there as an owner is also extraordinary.”
“I’m still processing everything. I have a mix of emotions, thinking about how fast I was towards the end and wishing that things had gone more in our favor. At the same time, I’m incredibly happy for Chris and his team, and everyone involved.”
