Denny Hamlin took a controversial victory last weekend at Pocono after pushing Kyle Larson into the outside wall on a late-race restart.
After securing his 50th career victory and Toyota’s 600th in NASCAR, the experienced driver triumphantly waved the checkered flag, despite facing a chorus of disapproving boos. However, he showed no remorse for his achievement and did not offer any apologies.
He led a Toyota 1-2-3 with 23XI Racing’s Tyler Reddick in second and Hamlin’s Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Martin Truex Jr. finishing third.
Truex’s advantage in the regular season championship has grown, with him now holding a 30-point lead over William Byron.
Michael McDowell currently occupies the last position in the playoffs, with a 17-point advantage over A.J. Allmendinger and a 23-point lead over Daniel Suarez.
Larson is the most recent winner at Richmond, taking victory in a Hendrick Motorsports 1-2 finish earlier this year.
Justin Haley has announced that he will be departing from Kaulig Racing by the end of this year and will be joining Rick Ware Racing in a long-term agreement. This news has caused some buzz in the Silly Season.
Kevin ‘Bono’ Manion was announced as the new crew chief for Ty Dillon by Spire Motorsports this week. Additionally, Cal Wells III has been appointed as the new CEO of Legacy Motor Club.
