Alfa Romeo reveals revised F1 livery for Belgian GP

July 24, 2023 by Clint Anderson Leave a Comment

Alfa Romeo launched a partnership with Kick before the start of the 2023 season, with its Spa livery the first occasion the new streaming platform receives a prominent spot on the bodywork of its 2023 C43 car.

The vehicle driven by Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu in the race will showcase vibrant green Kick logos and stickers on the front wing, rear wing, and sidepod, along with coordinating wheel rims.

Kick is a live-streaming platform that has attracted over 10 million users in its first seven months.

The start-up plans to challenge established streaming platforms by providing its creators with a 95-5 revenue split for follower subscriptions.

One of its highest-profile signings is Canadian streamer xQc, who signed an exclusive deal of up to $100m dollars and brought over 400,000 followers to his Kick platform.

Alfa Romeo, a company based in Switzerland, experienced a positive improvement in their performance during the Hungarian Grand Prix last weekend. Zhou and Bottas achieved fifth and seventh place in the qualifying round, respectively.

Zhou’s unfortunate start prevented the Chinese driver from earning any points, while Bottas also ended up outside the top 10 due to a delay during the initial lap.

The Hinwil squad remains ninth in the 2023 constructors’ championship ahead of the final race before the summer break at Spa-Francorchamps.

Bottas expressed his disappointment as our race was negatively impacted right after the start, despite having a promising opportunity to convert a solid qualifying performance into points.

I had to maneuver around Zhou, who was ahead of me, due to his difficulties with the brake system strategy. This caused me to lose some momentum.

“We have a positive aspect to carry forward into Belgium as we discovered something additional from our package on Saturday. Therefore, the potential was certainly present, and our objective will be to further develop upon it.”

“Undoubtedly, Spa will present a distinct circuit, yet our team will dedicate significant effort this week to discover the optimal setup for continued advancement and an immediate resurgence.”
