During the 2023 season, Briscoe and his team from Stewart-Haas Racing achieved a streak of three consecutive top-five finishes. As a result, they managed to climb up to the 14th position in the series standings.
However, that occurred three months in the past. Subsequently, there have been consecutive challenges.
On Monday’s rain-delayed race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Briscoe managed to overcome a disappointing qualifying performance (27th place) and achieved a 10th place finish. This was his highest position since coming in fourth at Talladega in April.
“I cannot reword”
A few weeks ago, I mentioned that it will require some time to understand these cars – to become familiar with them, determine the most effective adjustments, and establish my starting point.
“I had the impression that towards the conclusion, our car was performing at a seventh-place level. However, if we had begun the weekend at that level, perhaps we could have been contending for the victory.”

Briscoe emerged victorious in New Hampshire, adding another triumph to his name by winning a 30-lap feature race for Sprint Cars of New England on Friday evening.
Briscoe has been eagerly anticipating a turn of luck ever since he was reunited with his former crew chief Richard Boswell from the Xfinity Series before last month’s race in Nashville.
Right now, we are taking small strides and achieving 10th place feels like a victory, particularly at this race track which I consider to be my weakest. Hopefully, we can maintain this progress.
“We simply required it sincerely – a positive occurrence to uplift us and generate some forward motion.”
Briscoe, who is 28 years old, currently holds the 31st position in the series standings. In order for him to qualify for the 16-driver playoffs this season, he will need to secure a victory.
Achieving the objective requires the ability to position oneself at the front during the final stages of races, which is a significant progression.
“I hope that this will serve as a catalyst for us to move in the correct path,” Briscoe expressed. “Pocono is uncertain due to our performance on larger tracks. I hope we can go there and perform well.”
